Stress in itself isn’t a bad thing. In short bursts, it is a normal and necessary physiological response, it can sharpen focus, mobilise energy and help us rise to a challenge.

It is when stress becomes chronic, or we have suffered past trauma, that the body becomes locked in a hyper-vigilant state. Cortisol becomes elevated, the nervous system braced, digestion compromised, nutrients depleted and the breath becomes shallow and restricted. Together this can slowly erode your health, energy and sleep.
